29 weeks

We had the ultrasound on the 30th of September and she seems to be growing just fine, she has a HUGE head, but I am hoping that is just a growth spurt...please! My BP was still raised, so me and the doctor made the decision that I need to cut back on work so instead of 40 hours, I am putting in 25-30 at this point. They drew blood and I did the Glucose testing which all came back just fine. I am waiting to hear what the results of the protein test are. They went ahead and scheduled another appt for the Thursday to check my BP and an Ultrasound at the end of this month to double check things for Roo. The thing was really sucked that day was I was sent over to Labor and Delivery for monitoring cause Roo was way too quiet for the day. It scared the hell out of me,but as soon as they put those monitors on she woke up and protested her space being invaded. I am thankful that everything was OK.
So much is going to happen this month, we only have two more weeks of birthing classes to be finished. Alex will be here next Friday for a weekend visit on her Fall break and then the following weekend, Randy will be heading to Colorado For Jon's wedding, unfortunately I can't attend that on the cautious side. Then Greg will be down for two weeks after that which will put us into the first week of November!!! Where is the time going?

25 weeks

We went to the doctor last week, lets not even discuss the weight gain! Dr. Griffin was concerned about my blood pressure, so on the 30th I will be doing the glucose testing as well as being sent home with the protein test. I also will have an ultrasound that day to check and make sure Roo is growing adequately and that everything looks ok. I was shocked at first that we were talking about early stages of preeclampsia, but I know my doctor will do everything in here power to make sure me and Roo are ok. I am trying to take it easy but that is easier said than done most of the time.
I am getting so anxious as time is getting closer to her arrival. Randy is so excited that he can hardly contain his self half the time. He keeps asking is it December yet, silly hubby. Everything else is going fine. We start birthing classes on the 20th. I know it seems early, but I have a feeling that this little one won't make it to her due date and I wanted to attend the classes while I still have some energy left since as the days go by, that seems to be disappearing along with seeing my feet.
I just can't wait to see her again! The 30th can't come quick enough so I can see my precious daughter.

23 weeks

As time is getting closer, I am finding less and less time to write on this thing! Things are progressing nicely. I go back to the doctor next week for my 24 week appt! We toured the hospital a few weeks ago and am surprised how nice the labor and delivery rooms are. They are away from the main part of the hospital and even have their own operating rooms just in case. Each room is a suite so you don't have to be with other mom's. Its almost like a hotel, with TV, fridge, bed, shower, jacuzzi tub and everything.

In three weeks, I start birthing classes. I can't believe that we are making it to this stage already. Where has the time gone. I feel like it was just last week, I found out we were expecting our little Roo and now I am over half way done with the pregnancy and the thought of labor is beginning to be a more prominent thought in my mind. I am unfortunately starting to tire out more and more these days. I was hoping the energy would last a little longer, but the bigger I get, the harder it is to find the strength to be active all the time. Roo on the other hand does not ever stop. She kicks me all the time, so much that its hard to sleep. I feel like I am going to have an Alien moment and she is going to pop out. She is either going to be a boxer or a soccer player! At this point, I would be very surprised if she makes it to her due date, she is already wanting out!

I have also taken up crocheting in my spare time. My Budgie (dad's mother), was a pro at this. I use to sit and watch her when I was younger and was amazed at what she could create with her hands, yarn, and a metal hook. I still have the afghan she made me when I was younger and cherish it so much. I had tried previously with no luck but for some reason was able to catch on pretty quickly. So pretty much every night you will find me working on my crocheting!

We almost have everything we need for Roo, but the stroller. That is our last big ticket item to get, other than her crib which we are getting when we move next year. There was no reason to set up her room when the Navy was packing us out a short time after she makes her grand appearance. Right now, I am just enjoying the time I have with Randy, crocheting her a blanket, and feeling her kick my bladder till no avail, until she decides to make her entrance into this world!

20 weeks

Wow see what happens when I don't have time to get on here!!!! Lets play catch up now!

15 weeks

Not much going on here, just a growing!

16 weeks

We had our 3rd appt today. Roo's heart rate was in the 150's and we decided to go ahead and finish up the genetic testing, which means I donate more blood to the masses. My uterus gets measured now and I am right on schedule. Dr. Griffith prepped me for my long trip home with reminders of walking and plenty of fluids and that we would see her in 4 weeks. (FYI - test came back negative)

17 weeks

We left on Friday for our trip home. We were so excited to finally see Texas soil again. We got in at 3, relaxed and had an amazing BBQ dinner with steak, potatoes, and crab legs!!! YUM!!!! Saturday was venturing to the Navy Exchange and buying out their stock in reef sandals, getting my hair cut and dyed (thank you Stephanie) and having our dinner/baby shower at Cancun. I was so happy to have their food again. Everyone was there, Bob & Jeepie, Donald Mack, Glenda & Tracy, Marion and Jack, Mary Alice & Tilda & Amelia, Pam & Omar, Bertha & John & Juan, Stella and Chuck. Lots of pictures were taken and we got our first baby gifts!!! Sunday was breakfast at Floyd's, trip to the mall, and another party at Lori and Jeremy's. It was so much fun playing caught up with out favorite neighbors. Monday was our final trip to the exchange and hitting the road for Houston.

18 weeks

We got an amazing suite at the Hampton Inn, compliments to my hubby and spent from Monday to Thursday spending time with Norma and Harry. We got to caught up with Mary Beth and Chris and their new addition Eli. Sarah and Kyle and dinner at Wolfie's. I also got to see Karen, Michael, and Uncle Gary. Uncle Gary looked better, but it was still hard to look at this strong man who couldn't remember a lot of things and got easily frustrated. We finished the trip seeing John and Cassie and on Thursday afternoon headed to Paris

Thursday and Friday was caughting up with family, eating at Paris Bakery, and shopping at Paris Baby and Paris farmer's market. We ate at the pub for ole time's sake (I had a coke). Saturday was our 2nd baby shower in which we got more stuff for Roo! It was a nice relaxing party with the family. Sunday was breakfast and heading back to Vancouver, WA. I cried when I have to leave Texas, I just wanted to stay!!!

19 weeks

Playing caught up was a nightmare. SO much laundry, doggie fun time, and cleaning. We picked up our first things for Roo of a swing, bouncer, tub, and play thing. We even got some cute clothes that were too cute to pass up!!!! Feeling good, but I know I gained five pounds from all the junk I ate in Texas!! Oh well, you only live once and Roo enjoyed it!!!

20 weeks

And the verdict is........... IT'S A GIRL! We are welcoming a new little girl summer in this world. Names are still being worked on and finally knowing that Roo is a her, is priceless. A future Daddy's girl!

14 weeks

I can't believe I am already in the second trimester. Jeez, where has the time gone. I actually woke up this morning with energy, but I better not talk too loud cause I might jinxed myself. Everything seems to be going good, just been really busy with Texas trip planning, waiting on concrete orders for our next duty station, and waiting on the arrival of my step-sis Ashley on Wednesday for a brief visit.
Me and Randy actually started looking for baby stuff this weekend, just to get a general idea of what is out there and what we need. I am also having to make sure and register at places everybody can go too, since our family and friends are stretched from one side of Texas to the other. After July, we will be able to focus more on the move, the arrival of Roo in December and transitioning my dogs to a new member of the family and moving somewhere. Sometimes I think I am crazy to have three dogs, but there are my life and have been my kids for almost eight years. We still have two more weeks to our next appt, but I got my genetic test for Down syndrome and Trisomy 18 back, which I am considered low risk. My sister said there should be a test for no risk, but that is good as it gets right now. So much to do, so little time!!

12 weeks

This week has been another crazy one and I am looking forward to my weekend. I was 12 weeks Monday and getting bigger by the week. We had scheduled our Texas trip for the 3rd week of July and I can't wait to see everybody

Wednesday was our ultrasound and man was I nervous. It had been over a month since I had seen Roo and I was curious to see what had changed. Imagined to my surprise when I saw two arms and two legs and a little face. I was amazed at how much Roo had grown in just four weeks from a little bean to more defined baby. Roo was dancing around in there and giving the tech a run for his money. We got to hear the heartbeat, 163 bpm. I pretty much laid there holding Randy's hand and smiling up a storm, I was so happy just to watch Roo on the screen. The Dr. came in and stated everything looked great and on track. So I proceeded to give another volume of blood for the test and went home with a ton of new pictures of our baby. We go back August 2nd, which at that point we will hopefully know what we are having, even though it will be after we get back from Texas.

Thursday we put in for orders again since Hawaii fell through. We put in for San Diego, Little Creek, VA, and Bremerton and I am hopeful we will know soon. Also today we had our 2nd baby appt. I weighed the same so I was happy that the pounds were not being packed on just yet. My blood pressure was a little high, but I had a stressful day at work so I figured that to be the cause. We discussed my back pain, constant bathroom breaks, and traveling with Dr. Griffin who is referring me to physical therapy for the back pain and that running to the bathroom over a dozen times a day is normal. She also gave me some tips on handling the plane trip and such. Then we got to hear Roo's heartbeat with the Doppler, 160 bpm, music to Mommy's ears. Dr. Griffin said everything else look good and that she will see me in 4 weeks!

11 weeks

Even with the holiday on Monday, this week hasn't been the greatest. Spent two days trying to get approved for some testing through our insurance, who will pay for the testing, but not to interpret the results, Thanks! Also found out today we didn't get out duty station we requested. Oh well, things happen for a reason and I am sure God has a plan, I just don't know what it is right now

On a happier note, I have an Ultrasound on Wednesday and 2nd baby appt on Thursday so I am looking forward next week to seeing Roo again! I can't wait to see how big Roo has grown! I also can't believe how time has already flown by. When I found out I was pregnant, December seemed so far away, but now I feel likes it right around the corner.

So I broke down and took a picture even though it wasn't that great, but here is the infamous baby bump! 11 weeks and 2 days...enjoy!

10 weeks

Today I am officially 10 weeks along, I am still very tired and fatigued, but am doing OK. My clothes are fitting tighter and tighter, don't know how much longer I can make due with what I have, but I will do my best. I have a healthy appetite which has a tendency to grab unhealthy things, but I am trying to be good. I am working on coming home for the summer for about 10 days to Corpus Christ, Houston, and then Paris to try and see all the family and friends possible. Pray for safe travels and no hurricanes please!!!

Last Thursday me and Randy put in our orders for our next duty station. We won't know if we got them until later this week, but I am not disclosing details until I know for sure. I don't want to get my hopes up again, just to see them crash. Less than 6 years of military craziness and counting to we can return back to normalcy (whats that).

I plan on posting a belly picture soon, when I don't feel like I look like the Goodyear blimp, even though Randy says I am beautiful (he's biased LOL). He is getting more excited as the days go by about Roo. He rubs and kisses my belly all the time and is so concerned for my welfare. He is such a great husband, I couldn't ask for better. Its just hard to believe that in 8 months, we will be parents.

9 weeks

Ok, so Monday I was 9 weeks. I officially can't button my pants anymore (thank god for the bella band). I try to walk as much as possible to stay active throughout my pregnany. Randy bought me and roo a Wii this weekend so hopefully that will help on days that i can't get outside, like today since it is raining. We are working on a trip to Texas hopefully in July so we can see family. I must be crazy to want to come to Texas in the dead of summer and be pregnant. If you want to find me, look for places with A/C! Hopefully this week, we will also find out where we are going next. We are suppose to change duty stations in January, just a few weeks after the baby is born. I am hoping that we find a place this time around since last months try fell through, actually the day we found out we were expecting! I am just really hoping for the best. I also found out something really funny last night. To set it up I live on a small block with 8 houses, 5 of those households are retired couples or couples with children off to school, the other 3 are young couples and we are all expecting! My neighbor across the street is due in August, and my neighbor next door is due a month before me. Wow I must have drank the water!!!

1 + 1 = 3

It has been a little over a month since we found out we are expecting our first child. Things have been crazy since then. Since it has taken me a month, I guess I better catch everybody up to speed on everything

April 15th

I started my birthday week not feeling up to par as I normally would incredibly. I was expecting a present from mother nature, but when two days went by without that present, I started to wonder what was the hold up. Imagine to my surprise when I took my mother's advice and took a pregnancy test to find it, it was positive. I started laughing hysterically for some unknown reason. I ran to the computer room where Randy was and told him that I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. His response, " No way"! I had to actually show him the test so he could see for himself. We were both really surprised and excited! I called my mother with the news and then my sister who proceeded to scream in happiness, but I went and got another test, just in case I had lost my mind, but to no surprise, that one was positive as well. At this point, I assumed I was only 4-5 weeks along. So I spent the rest of the evening deciding that I would wait till the blood test came back before I announced to everybody. I enjoyed my last cigarette, ( me and randy both quit the day we found out) and went to sleep.

April 16th

Went to the doctor for a blood test and was told it may take a few days to receive results since it had to be sent off, never heard of a doctor's office without a lab, but oh well. Dr. Miller told me that the pee test are very accurate and proceeded to congratulate me after taking half my blood volume for other tests. I immediately called my sister and mom and told them to spread the good word cause I knew I couldn't wait that long. I spent most of the day as well did randy talking to all our friends who would happy to see that we were " finally" expecting. LOL perfection takes time! Alex decided the baby needed a name so the baby was dubbed "Roo" until later down the line. I actually think this baby will be stuck with that for nickname later in life.

April 17th

I got a call from the doctor who confirmed my pregnancy. He also ran other labs on me, my iron and thyroid were normal as well as a good blood count. I was referred to my OB/GYN and sent on my way. This also happened to be Randy and me's 6th anniversary. What a present that we will never forget!

May 11th

Went to pre-baby appt, where I gave another half my blood volume and proceeded to give tons of history for both sides of the family. Wow, I felt like I was being interrogated! My weight wasn't as bad as I thought, thank god since I had previously been fighting a viral infection for almost two months that left me more like a couch potato than active. Funny thing I had just started working out the week before I found out I was pregnant. They also told me my due date was December 20th. I am not holding on to that day at all since this baby will decide when it is time to come out. Everybody is hoping for a Christmas baby, I am not! Going to the hospital on Christmas Day will be a mad house, I will have to call in a favor from Santa Claus to get there!

MAy 13th

Our 1st baby appt! Randy of course came with me. He was actually there at the doctor's office before I was. It was simple, weight, blood pressure, temp, talk about my history and risks, testing. Dr. Griffin said she was wanted to sneak us over to ultrasound and hear the baby's heartbeat. I was so excited, other than few issues, I was still having a hard time convincing myself I was pregnant. My heart stopped when I saw Roo on the screen, no bigger than a quarter. Then came the heartbeat, I was overjoyed and started tearing up. There was our baby!
Randy looked like a kid at Christmas! His eyes lite up and were as big as saucers! The heartbeat was 194 bpm, it sounded like hummingbird. Dr. Griffin gave us our baby's first pictures and told us she would see us in 4 weeks. I spent the rest of the evening amazed. The appt made it all real for me that I am carrying our child. I couldn't be more excited, scared, nervous, etc in my whole life. I had the pictures on the refridgerator, but someone took them to work and has yet to return them!! Gotta love Randy!
